Welcome to Casco Bay in Portland, ME!
Our family-owned, small Maine-business Casco Bay Custom Charters began it’s journey a decade ago in June of 2014.
After restoring a classic 1969 Maine lobster boat, the MONHEGAN, we began sharing our love for boating and the sights of Casco Bay. Our first boat tours were lighthouse tours and sightseeing charters. Over the past decade our offerings have expanded to offer bottomless mimosa brunch and sunset dinner cruises, private-chef boat charters, and private island transportation.
Our fleet grew in 2018 to add a vintage passenger ferry, MARIE L, allowing us the opportunity to take larger groups for tours of the southern coastline of Maine. MARIE L is a classic vessel who has been in service in Casco Bay for nearly 70 years!
We’ve learned that businesses, like people, are at their best when they cooperate and collaborate. We love working with a large number of local partners to provide our guests with the best possible experience [learn more below].
After 10 years, we’re fortunate to say we continue to have a lot of fun with everything we do. Whether it’s a sightseeing tour of iconic Maine lighthouses, or a small wedding elopement, our crew strives for an exceptional experience tailored to your perfect day on the water.

Fortland
– Southern Maine’s unique island camping experience is set on historic Fort Scammel on House Island in Casco Bay. An expert in creating bespoke weddings and events, we partner with Fortland on our Private Island Elopement Package.
Maine Brews Cruise – Portland, Maine’s original, and only craft beer and beverage tour since 2012. Maine Brew’s Cruise “drives you to drink local” at various craft breweries, including new locations like Argenta Brewing and classics like Shipyard Brewing Co.
Portland Beer Hub – The home of Casco Bay Custom Charters, and other Maine tours, the Portland Beer Hub is a unique bar and retail location. Featuring over 30 local producers, you can taste your beer and take it to go!
Portland Explorer – Portland Explorer offers lively bus tours of the sights of Portland, Maine and surrounding areas. Local guides share the history of Portland with a touch of humor, and a lot of local facts!
SeaPortland – SeaPortland offers small group, public tours of Casco Bay sights like the Fort Scammel, the Portland Headlight, the Portland Breakwater Light, Fort Gorges and more! SeaPortland is our partner for private island transportation and private tours for groups larger than 16.
