This 2-hour cruise combines a sightseeing tour with a tasty family-style brunch featuring freshly baked croissants, bagels, smoked salmon, caper cream cheese, plain cream cheese, tomatoes, cucumber, onions, dill, local cheese, and fresh fruit. Enjoy unlimited access to mimosas, local beers, seltzers, and a variety of non-alcoholic selections. Add quiche, smoked salmon, or hickory ham to make it a true feast.
With options to depart from our private dock in South Portland or from Custom House Wharf in Portland’s Old Port, you can have a relaxing morning before you even hop aboard. Free parking is available at our South Portland location, and for guests staying in the Old Port or arriving by cruise ship, our Custom House Wharf dock is just a short walk away.
Once aboard, relax on MARIE L’s cushioned benches and meet your captain and deckhand, who will start serving drinks and brunch as soon as you set off. Your deckhand also doubles as your personal tour guide, sharing stories about the history and lore of Casco Bay. Weather permitting, your cruise will take you past four lighthouses, including the iconic Portland Head Light—Maine’s oldest lighthouse and one of its most photographed landmarks.
Commissioned by George Washington and built starting in 1791, the Portland Head Light serves as a beacon not only for ships entering Portland Harbor but for millions of visitors each year. Since it’s still an active navigational aid and not open to the public, experiencing it from the water is truly the best way to take it in.
In addition to the lighthouses, your cruise will include views of Casco Bay’s rugged island coastline and historic forts like Fort Gorges and Fort Scammel, granite block fortresses that once protected Portland Harbor during its days as a major hub of shipping and commerce.
