Embark on a Picturesque Journey with our Fall Foliage Cruises to New England in Portland, ME!
What better way to see New England’s renown fall color than from the deck of our classic Maine-built wooden boats!
Enjoy the crisp fall air as you take in the vibrant, changing colors along Maine’s scenic coastline. Let your mind wander to the days when sailing ships ruled the waves as we pass by some of the most iconic sights in Maine, including Portland Head Light, Maine’s oldest lighthouse, and Fort Gorges, a Civil War-era fortress built to defend Portland Harbor. Seals, loons, eagles, and other seabirds are frequently encountered as well. Don’t forget your camera!

We love October. The pace of life starts to slow after the busy summer season, the varied green hues of summer give way to the full spectrum of fall colors, and the humidity of summer gives way to cooler, more crisp air that just seems to make us feel more alive. Join us aboard our beautifully restored lobster boat, MONHEGAN, for a real taste of authentic Maine. You’ll cruise through Portland Harbor and out to Portland Head Light, passing the rocky shore of Cape Elizabeth dotted with trees displaying red, orange, and golden hues. From the Head Light, you’ll cruise past the island communities on Peaks and Little and Great Diamond Islands. These communities are in transition from the busy summer months to the slow winter months. Only a small but hardy fraction of each island’s residents remain year-round.
MONHEGAN is perfectly appointed for fall cruising. She has an enclosure over her spacious aft deck seating area with retractable clear sides, allowing our guests to remain comfortable even in breezy or wet weather. In addition, the enclosure is designed to retain the warmth of MONHEGAN’s engine, providing an extra source of warmth and comfort along with padded benches, throw pillows, and wool blankets from our friends up the road at L.L. Bean. You may never want to step back on the dock!

As with all of our private charters, we are pleased to offer onboard catering and a nicely curated selection of locally brewed beer, hard seltzers, and canned cocktails plus imported wines and an assortment of non-alcoholic beverages. As a special addition for fall, we are pleased to feature some award-winning hard ciders as well.
Our onboard catering includes options that make it easy to enjoy a brunch, lunch, or some apps while cruising Casco Bay. Food can be ordered at the time of booking or any time up to 72 hours prior to your charter departure.
For drinks, we offer an “all-inclusive” drinks package featuring unlimited local beer, spiked seltzer, canned cocktails and red, white, and sparkling wines. In addition, we offer premium wines and champagnes plus the featured ciders. These premium offerings are not included in our “all-inclusive” package and can be ordered up to 72 hours in advance using our onboard catering ordering system.
Guests are always welcome to bring aboard their own food, but guests are not able to bring their own alcoholic beverages aboard.
